Hilary Wallace suggested her portfolio for my Halloween countdown, and I feel it fits.

This was done in colored pencil:

I adore this vampire’s hands.

Well, miss…your hair looks lovely.

The cake below was the inspiration for a whole post on the subject. Can you believe this is a cake?

The Lost Tarot

Here is yet another gorgeous tarot deck, a bit out of my price range, that I find very interesting: The Lost Tarot

The use of skulls and skeletons is lovely, and the soft color scheme is quite unique (click image to enlarge a bit).

Hopefully one day this deck will be part of my collection!

I also recommend checking out the other categories of art on Dominic Murphy’s site. There are treasures to be found there!

I am not zombie or unicorn obsessed…but even I must admit that this was pulled off stunningly well.

Guillermo del Toro: Cabinet of Curiosities

Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities has me drooling with anticipation!

Over the last two decades, writer-director Guillermo del Toro has mapped out a territory in the popular imagination that is uniquely his own, astonishing audiences with Cronos, Hellboy, Pan’s Labyrinth, and a host of other films and creative endeavors. Now, for the first time, del Toro reveals the inspirations behind his signature artistic motifs, sharing the contents of his personal notebooks, collections, and other obsessions.

The result is a startling, intimate glimpse into the life and mind of one of the world’s most creative visionaries. Complete with running commentary, interview text, and annotations that contextualize the ample visual material, this deluxe compendium is every bit as inspired as del Toro is himself.

Does anyone have this yet???

The Ghost to His Ladye Love

Have you ever seen anything more charming than this romantic undead overture? It was written by W. S. Gilbert (of the famed Gilbert and Sullivan).
