I just stumbled upon PressaRussa on Etsy. What an adorable (and sometimes mildly subversive) collection of letterpress creations.

Who could refuse an invitation like this? Love it…

Felt and Wire: When Hell Freezes Over

Posted in design, paper, products with tags , , on August 31, 2010 by shewalkssoftly

What a great idea for a greeting card and/or stationary…a happy devil, skating through a frozen hell.

This would be great to send to someone who has seemingly done the impossible.

I will definitely be keeping an eye on the Candyspotting Etsy store after seeing this (currently sold out) little collection of laser cut geeky love cards.

So well done!

There are other fantastic designs in the shop as well. See for yourself here.

Wood Memo Block

Posted in design, paper, products with tags , , on August 8, 2009 by shewalkssoftly

Sometimes simplicity is a wonderful thing. This memo block is so…for lack of a better descriptive adjective…neat.

The wood design is incredibly well done. I’d love one of these on my desk.

Watarou Itou

I’ve seen in it posted in more than one place, so my “don’t regurgitate” instincts perked up. But this installation is just so darn gorgeous that I can’t help posting it. I look at a lot of paper craft, and this may be the finest castle I’ve ever seen.

Watarou Itou is a young Tokyo art student who clearly has a bright future in the art world! The installation is entitled Umi no Ue no Oshiro (A Castle On the Ocean).

It took over four years for Itou to complete the project. It is intricately electrically wired for a variety of lighting options (it also features a ferris wheel and train).

More large images at the Source. The different angles and lighting schemes are really worth a look.

Miniature Analog Papercraft

I’m so delighted with Dan McPharlin’s series of miniature cardboard models.

The detail is lovely (and cardboard is not the easiest medium to work with, especially in small sizes). Don’t you want to just sit down and make some sounds on these pretty machines?

Perfect for my teeny tiny hands (not my hand in the photo, of course)!
